Ai Hamezono, formerly nicknamed Ai Hanazono is a fictional manga writer, artist and the original author of the Lingerie Senshi Papillon Rose manga. Other mentioned works of her other than Papillon Rose are "Cherry Boy Hunter" and "Toyuuka Hamedaibu".
Background[]
She was born on Sweden and moved to Japan at a young age, Her father was obsessed with sexual education and taught her everything from a young age. After returning to Japan as an adult, she became affiliated with the Imperial underground empire of Japan, and introduced Papillon Rose to them after seeing how back in the times it was regarding sexual education. She based the Papillon Rose trio on the archetypes of a girl who enjoys sex (Rose), a girl who masturbates (Margarette) and a girl who is more liberal and sleeps around a lot (Lily), so they become more relatable to the young audience of the empire. Her works on the girl magazine "Otome" were described as lighthearted sex comedies. Her previous work "Cherry boy Hunter" ,about a clumpsy amorous office lady and her intimate adventures with men, was also award winning.
After the webseries ended its internet broadcast, she took a break from being a mangaka. While Papillon Rose R was developing, she got married to a black military man from America, but considered returning to the manga scene by drawing new illustrations of the Papillon Trio in princess forms, possibly as covers for a new storyline. She had little influence on the R anime due to alleged drama with the series director, but wrote the original lyrics to Renaissance and designed the costume of Papillon Flora. She expressed excitement over the possiblity of adapting Papillon Rose as a strip musical.
During the Rebuild production period, she worked as a hostess and filed for bankrupcy, which was mended by her fabricating a fake religion. She was not involved with the rebuild movies, but watched the first movie on its premiere. She commented that she didn't like it, as despite it being more closely drawn to her art style, it was clearly Shinji Tobita's version of Papillon Rose.
She is reportedly under medication to control her sexual addiction.

- At high school and college, she contributed illustrations to "SM sniper" and "Ecchi Topia", two adult-themed magazines for male audiences.
- Derti Matsumoto's "Female teacher butterfly" and "Overtaken without a fate" were her biggest inspirations for Papillon Rose.
- Her working titles for Lingerie Soldier Papillon Rose were "The replacement superhero of Kabuki Butterfly's irregular" and "The research for Lingerie Soldier Papillon Rose's secret climax".
- Her previous work "Cherry boy hunter" was accepted in the second round of Houmansha's Otome manga awards for amateur artists.

- Her author avatar image is colored with blonde hair and blue eyes in the Rebuild series theater brochure, reflecting her foreigner status. Foreign women are usually shown with blonde hair and blue eyes in anime.
