Well...f*ck
I was cleaning up the translations of the R archive for the Google translate feature on my smartphone and was like you know what? this is so convenient, let's see what it will translate if I use it on the Rebuilt brochure...
And everything went downhill from there lmao
I don't know if my lack of experience reading kanji had anything to do with it, but oh boy are some of the stuff I translated back then wrong.
For instance, Ruby/Cosmos is not a stand in for Papillon Flora, but a phantom warrior under her command. Tsubomi isn't a user of 2-channera, but standard 2chan(2channera-2channeler). Melitta is present in the movie apparently, but no art of her is featured in the artbook. Eddie of Choipai wants to make all men infertile because she was b…

made this for fun, in a what could have been scenario where Kanari Kanzaki sang Rosetta in character.
Enjoy :)
Fanmade Papillon Rose series for 20th anniversary
As we all know for sure, the Papillon Rose series is 22 years old (Wayback machine dates the earliest capture back to 2001), and since it doesn't look like we'll get an anniversary series from the official creator himself, I decided to make my own fanmade series to honor it. Compared to the original series, this series is not rated R-18, but rather, R-15, with minimal dirty jokes. The setting and character personalities are based off the ONA and Manga storylines but with my own creative twist. I probably might write fanfiction and make illustrations for a new concept if someone shows interest. Here's what I have done so far:
The new series is titled: Glittering Butterfly Papillon Rose
Summary: Tsubomi Toen is a 19 year old girl who is repeat…
Papillon Rose achive - english translation
At long last, the translation of the first artbook is completed
I started this project as a collaboration with LoveGarden from tumblr/deviantart a few years ago, with her initially translating and me being in charge of the graphics. We both had to go on a long hiatus for personal reasons. She eventually retired altogether and my japanese understanding got a bit better, so I decided to tackle the rest on my own. I was aiming to host it on a personal website on Papillon rose, but figured I would share it here instead(hence the disclaimer and notes in the end). Sorry for the delay.

Wonderful News!
It's been a long time since I contributed to this wiki *sweatdrops*
I'm sorry if I was keeping you waiting. Things in life happened but I have some big news to share!
A while back, I attained some scans of all the three books of Papillon Rose along with some very rare scans of images from the original website that were not available on the wayback machine. I also attained the CD-ROM and the P/R limited OST with the Flora No Hemuri Piano cover. All of this is from Tsubomi Koneko, which she happily offered to share with me.
I'm planning to upload them when I have the time, so please wait! I'm so excited to share this with all of you!

New Papillon Rose domain
Hello
Mino Tarou announced on Twitter on October 1st that there is a new Papilon Rose domain. Here is the link:
http://papillonrose.sakura.ne.jp/
There must still be hope for the new art book!
Update:
I have some sad news. Mino Tarou replied to someone on twitter that the Papillon Rose movie 1 was intended to be one project and he has no plans to continue it. https://mobile.twitter.com/mino_taro/status/746780033826492416
Papillon Rose possibly parodies Tokyo Mew Mew?
Hello, long time no talk.
Recently, I was searching an anime called Tokyo Mew Mew and I couldn't help but notice that the chokers oddly resemble the ones for the ONA series a little bit. It came out in 2000, a year before Papillon Rose so it could've probably influenced the design for that series?
What do you all think?
Small update + some good news
Wow, it's been a while. I am finally done with my job for now and while my thesis still isn't over, there is plenty of time for me to contribute here.
So, I got to cleanup my scans of the Rebuild artbook. They are not the best quality as there is some grain from the scanning, but it is well better than nothing. I'll be sharing some renders of the pictures in there so that we have more character pics from rebuild. Also, I'll try to cleanup some more the only picture of Adonis and Lupinus in there as it's their only appearance s far.
Something Interesting for anyone that's interested.
I found a translated version of the Cutie Honey manga from the 1960s that is by Yuu Okazaki in Nakayoshi magazine. There are a few chapters.

Predictions and artbook pages.
Well, it's been over a year since the rebuild was announced and a few months since the site shut down. Recently, Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3 has been slated for spring release and it makes me wonder if Mino Tarou will do the next one in summer Comiket. What are your thoughts?
I myself hope that he will do the second one as well as restocking the first archive and maybe actually get to see some animation.
Also, since I can't talk on the blog due to the computer issues, Vanmak, the recent one you put in the Parodies to Other anime page, the Oh My Godess one, I don't think it parodies it because they look slightly different. Also, i could tell it was from a page, since it looks cut off, may I see the whole page and if there are other pages, ma…
Found two new stuff in the pile of references
I have been watching two very good animation series while working and finishing up my studies, Oniisama e and Rose of Versailles both by Riyoko Ikeda, and their opening songs are probably both referenced in the soundtracks.
The opening of Rose of Versailles has very similar cues to Bara no Priere. And the opening of Oniisama, I don't know how, but it reminds me of the Genesis track in the second soundtrack.
I'll definitely add the reference to Rose of Versailles with musical cues when I can because it is the clearest reference to that, but not very sure about the Genesis track, maybe it's just me.
Some people just don't understand...
I recently was on twitter, browsing some Papillon Rose posts, and I found this post that said that Papillon Rose was F**kin hilarious. It then led me to this
This person obviosuly seems to be a Sailor Moon addict and seems to get a lot of facts wrong about Papillon Rose. First of all, Papillon Rose is a parody, not a troll anime. Second, Hikaru is not a rapist. He is actually Tsubomi's lover, he was just under the spell of Regina Apis. She also says that shinji traced pics in Papillon Rose G, which I don't think he did, he stopped after R I think.
I know everyone has opinions, but I think that this person was trying to turn it into facts. It really ticks me off. I thought those trolls were gone after Papillon Rose ended, but they are still s…
Papillonrose.moe down
As it seems, the domain expired :(.
The shop and the blog are still up though.

Ho-Ly-Cow!
http://webnewtype.com/column/mino/66524/
Shinji Tobita revealed his identity. He is MinoTarou! And my mind just exploded.
...I really need to find some time to sit on my ass and translate everything in there lol. As far as I can understand his drawing style influence for Papillon Rose was Sakura Wars and he hated the New Season series.
It's also quite ironic how his first major work is listed as the art for Tokimeki Memorial online...when he drew vulgar caricatures of two of the main characters from those games back in Papillon Rose R xD.
He was listed as the character designer in Rebuild but I would never think he is actually the mastermind behind all. Again, holy cow.
He says the domain for Papillonrose.moe will expire soon... sigh
Some notes related to spellings
Since this was a thing that was also bugging the LiveJournal community, I'll try to explain why some stuff are spelled the way they are.
- Dinasty: it is spelled with an "i" because of the romanisation of the featured katakana (ディナスティ - Dinasuti). The subtitled version by Maiden Japan spells it "Dynasty", but the official romanisation in the rebuild brochure spells it "Dinasty".
-Gel Dynasty: it is spelled with a "y" again due to the katakana in the R mook (ゲルーダイナスティ- Geru Dainasuti). the Rupdate and shop feature katakana similar to Dinasty(ディナスティ), and the G update of the site features the Dynasty spelling.
-Dhalia: the "h" in the name's spelling is purely because of the spelling in the R mook and onwards. Enigmapoeia in the LJ community use…
